French soprano Charlotte Bonnet is establishing herself as a compelling lyric soprano, increasingly sought after in the French and Italian repertoire. Recent seasons have brought appearances at the Opéra national de Paris, Opéra de Marseille, Theater Basel, Opéra de Rouen, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Opéra Grand Avignon, in roles ranging from Micaëla and Liù to Musetta, Pamina and Suzel.

2026/27 SEASON

In the 2026/27 season, Charlotte Bonnet appears at the Opéra Orchestre national Montpellier as La Reine in the world premiere of Théodore Akimenko’s Le Baiser de la fée, conducted by Kirill Karabits in a new staging by Giorgio Pesenti. She subsequently makes her debut at the Opéra de Dijon as Echo in Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos, conducted by Joseph Bastian and directed by Myriam Marzouki.

The season culminates in an important milestone as Bonnet returns to the Opéra de Marseille for her role debut in the title role of Gounod’s Mireille. Following her acclaimed appearance there as Hilda in Sigurd, she takes on one of the emblematic roles of the French lyric repertoire in a production by Bruno Ravella, conducted by Jean-Marie Zeitouni.

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

Recent highlights include Liù in Turandot at the Opéra de Rouen, Alice in Falstaff at the Opéra Grand Avignon, the First Nymph in Rusalka at the Opéra de Limoges and the First Lady in Die Zauberflöte at the Festival de Sanxay. Particularly notable have been her performances as Hilda in Reyer’s Sigurd at the Opéra de Marseille, Micaëla in Carmen at Theater Basel, and Suzel in Mascagni’s L’amico Fritz, roles which have marked her development towards the major lyric soprano repertoire.

Bonnet made her Opéra national de Paris debut as Noémie in Massenet’s Cendrillon. Further engagements have included Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and Musetta in La bohème at the Opéra Grand Avignon, Rose in Lakmé at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Anna in La Nonne sanglante at the Opéra de Saint-Étienne, Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Musetta at the Festival de Sanxay, as well as Frasquita in Carmen at the Opéra de Nice.

Alongside opera, Bonnet has a strong affinity with French operetta and opéra-comique, with roles including Clairette in La Fille de Madame Angot, the title role in Messager’s Véronique, Nadia in The Merry Widow, Wanda in La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein and Franzi in Ein Walzertraum.

A prizewinner at numerous international singing competitions, Bonnet is a laureate of Génération Opéra and the International Mozart Competition in Vienna. She trained in Montauban and Toulouse and has since developed a repertoire spanning Mozart, French Romantic opera, Puccini and the French operetta tradition.
