BIOGRAPHY

Isabelle Druet is widely regarded as one of the most acclaimed French mezzo-sopranos of her generation. Equally at home on the opera stage and in recital, she navigates effortlessly through centuries of music, from Monteverdi to Britten, with remarkable versatility and grace.

A musician with an unconventional background, Isabelle Druet initially trained in dance and theater before venturing into singing, beginning her journey in contemporary and traditional music. She later pursued formal vocal studies at the prestigious CNSMD in Paris. Her talent quickly garnered recognition, earning her numerous accolades, including “Promising Lyrical Artist 2007” from ADAMI, a prize at the esteemed Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2008, the title of Most Promising Lyrical Artist at the “Victoires de la Musique Classique 2010,” and being named a “Rising Star” in 2013. These achievements paved the way for engagements at the world’s leading opera houses and collaborations with renowned ensembles.

Isabelle Druet’s career highlights include performing Carmen at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and Opéra National de Lorraine, Baba the Turk in The Rake’s Progress at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, Melanto in Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Concepción in L’Heure Espagnole at the Lyon Auditorium, Salle Pleyel, and Barbican Centre, and the title roles in La Périchole and La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein.
