Italian bass Andrea Pellegrini is establishing an international career with a particular focus on the Italian repertoire. He has appeared at Teatro alla Scala, Teatro di San Carlo, Staatsoper Stuttgart, New National Theatre Tokyo, Teatro Regio di Torino, Teatro Comunale di Bologna and Festival Verdi in Parma, working with conductors including Riccardo Chailly, Roberto Abbado, Fabio Biondi and Riccardo Frizza.

2026/27 SEASON

Andrea Pellegrini opens the 2026/27 season at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples as the King of Egypt in a concert performance of Verdi’s Aida, conducted by Riccardo Frizza, alongside Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann and Luca Salsi.

He subsequently appears as Barone Douphol in La traviata at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl, in a production directed by Mariame Clément and conducted by Asher Fisch. The Verdi repertoire remains a central focus of his season, with further appearances in Aida at the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo, Teatro Verdi di Pisa and Teatro del Giglio in Lucca.

On the concert stage, Pellegrini makes his MITO SettembreMusica debut as the bass soloist in Rossini’s Stabat Mater, conducted by Speranza Scappucci in Milan and Turin.

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

Recent highlights include his debut as Lodovico in Verdi’s Otello at the Staatsoper Stuttgart and his debut at the New National Theatre Tokyo as Colline in Puccini’s La bohème. He also appeared as Don Basilio in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, and in productions of Lucrezia Borgia at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and I puritani at the Teatro Regio di Torino.

Pellegrini made his Teatro alla Scala debut in 2021 in Macbeth under Riccardo Chailly and has subsequently returned to the theatre for Rigoletto, Fedora, I vespri siciliani and Simon Boccanegra. Further engagements include Simon Boccanegra at the Teatro di San Carlo, Don Carlo and I puritani at the Teatro Comunale Pavarotti-Freni di Modena, and La traviata at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste.

A regular guest of the Festival Verdi in Parma, he has appeared there as Ramfis in Aida, the Frate in Don Carlo and Pistola in Falstaff. His repertoire also includes Don Basilio in Il barbiere di Siviglia, which he has performed in Bologna and at the Festival Internacional de Música de Cartagena in Colombia.

Andrea Pellegrini studied at the Conservatorio Arrigo Boito in Parma and was subsequently a member of the Centre de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, where his productions included I vespri siciliani, Lucrezia Borgia and La clemenza di Tito.
