Polish baritone Szymon Raczkowski is an emerging young artist whose repertoire encompasses lyric opera, contemporary music and the concert stage. A graduate of the Opera Academy of the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, he has appeared at the Polish National Opera, Opera Krakowska and Opera Wrocławska, and has collaborated with leading Polish orchestras in a broad symphonic and oratorio repertoire.

In 2025, Raczkowski was a finalist at the prestigious Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Competition, where he received the Polish Actors’ Association Award for Outstanding Artistic Personality among the male voices.

2026/27 SEASON

A major engagement of Szymon Raczkowski’s 2026/27 season is the role of Joachim Ziemssen in Paweł Mykietyn’s The Magic Mountain in Warsaw, directed by Andrzej Chyra and conducted by Adam Banaszak. Performances take place from November 2026 through March 2027.

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

Recent operatic engagements include Morales in Bizet’s Carmen and Marquis d’Obigny in Verdi’s La traviata at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw. He has also appeared as Marcello in La bohème, Charlie in Karol Szymanowski’s The Husband Lottery, and participated in the world premiere of Henryk Jarecki’s Barbara Radziwiłłówna at the Polish National Opera.

Raczkowski has developed a substantial concert repertoire alongside his operatic work. Recent engagements include the bass solo in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Sudecka Philharmonic and National Forum of Music Choir, Mozart’s Requiem with the Kymi Sinfonietta and Brabant Chamber Orchestra, Brahms’s Ein deutsches Requiem, Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater, Haydn’s The Creation and Mozart’s Coronation Mass. He has also appeared with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra under Łukasz Borowicz.

Born in Bydgoszcz, Poland, Raczkowski studied at the Academy of Music in Łódź before joining the Young Talent Development Programme of the Opera Academy at the Polish National Opera. His distinctions include First Prize at the Romuald Tesarowicz National Vocal Competition and awards at the Krystyna Jamroz National Vocal Competition and the International Vocal Competition ’s-Hertogenbosch.
