BIOGRAPHY
Szymon Raczkowski was born in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and studied at the Academy of Music in Łódź. He later joined the Opera Academy at the Polish National Opera. In the 2024/25 season, Szymon will sing the role of Morales in Carmen at the Polish National Opera, where he made his debut in 2021 in J. Massenet’s Werther.
Szymon has achieved recognition in various competitions, including the International Vocal Competition 's-Hertogenbosch 2022. He won First Prize at the Romuald Tesarowicz National Vocal Competition 2022 and received a first-degree distinction along with the Director’s Award from the Chamber Philharmonic W. Lutosławski in Łomża at the VII Krystyna Jamroz National Vocal Competition in Kielce 2022.
In 2024 and 2023, Szymon performed the role of Charlie in K. Szymanowski's The Husband Lottery at opera festivals in Kraków and Gdańsk. He also took part in the world premiere of H. Jarecki's Barbara Radziwiłłówna at the Grand Theatre of the National Opera in Warsaw in 2022.
Beyond opera, Szymon performs oratorio music and has given concerts with philharmonic orchestras in Finland, the Netherlands, and Poland.
